With the start of Project Spectrum I'm sure everyone's coming up with all kinds of creative postcards for the swap. When I started thinking of ideas, the thought occurred to me - 'What the heck is the actual size of a post card anyway?' Along with that wondering what other regulations the Postal Service puts on sending these through the mail. I figured others might be wondering the same, so here's the specs I've found.
Other things of note are:
Rounded corners are not accepted
Cards over 0.016 inch thick are fine but will incur the First-Class letter rate of $0.39, if over 0.25 inch thick an extra $0.13 nonmachinable surcharge will be added
The white areas indicated on the graphic can not contain any text or graphics greater than 7% grayscale
Do not include any address that contains a zip code and state in the space directly left of the Mailing Address section.
